Christmas on the Reservation!

In July, 2010, shortly before I opened Clear Connection Chiropractic I took a trip to eastern Montana. This was not just any trip. I am part of a project called “Love Has No Color.” This is a humanitarian project that a group of chiropractors and their families have started to bring chiropractic, wellness, and most of all, hope to people in desperate need. We have adopted the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana as our first project.
This is a message from the Wellness Director on the Reservation, “This is another remarkable project that will make many children and elderly happy this coming holiday season. There are many children on the reservation that don’t have much of a joyful Christmas. With unemployment at 65%, coupled with the high cost of heating, it leaves little for the little ones. In one of our largest schools, it was noted that 61% of our children come from single guardianship households, with many of them being grandparents. The gifts would brighten the lives of our children, knowing that someone is thinking of them.”
As winter approaches we are beginning our annual Christmas on the Reservation gift drive. There are children on the reservation who are in third grade and do not know how to open a present. Many of the children I met could barely speak--it sounded like no one had ever spoken to them, so they never had the chance to learn--but with their eyes, they were crying out for connection, for someone to notice them, for someone to care. Love Has No Color is all about showing them that we do care, so here is what we will do:
My assignment is to collect new winter clothing and toys. When you bring in a winter clothing item and a toy you receive a gift certificate for a full chiropractic exam and report of findings, valued at $150. This can be used for you if you are not already a client or given to a family member or friend. All gifts need to be collected by November 22. They can be brought to Clear Connection Chiropractic or shipped directly to the reservation. Just let me know if you would like the address.
Thank You All for your Generosity!

February 2010
Posted on 2010-02-10 11:30:12
February is here already. What will it bring? Well, hopefully more snow for all of us who love to ski, Valentine’s Day, a whole month to celebrate love, and…drum roll please…the 3 year anniversary of Montgomery Family Chiropractic! Yes, that’s right. I opened Montgomery Family Chiropractic in the midst of the Valentine’s Day storm that dumped close to four feet on us three years ago. I had made all kinds of yummy healthy treats and had to eat them pretty much by myself because, as you may remember, it was rather difficult to go anywhere without being buried in the white stuff pretty quickly.
This year I will try that again. Stop by the office on Saturday, February 13 (alas, the actual Day is on Sunday which I like to spend with my daughter) for a 3 year celebration with treats included. Bring friends and they can schedule complimentary exams to kick off year #4!
You may have noticed that I’ve been out of the office a couple of Saturdays recently. Well, I have joined this wonderful group of chiropractors who have a passion for taking care of families, spreading the health, and making the world a better place. To meet up with them I travel to Detroit every few months for a weekend of fun, learning and expansion. Being a member of this group is helping me to stay on track with my vision of creating a healthier community and world, family by family right here in Montgomery.
I now have other events to bring your friends to. Each Monday evening at 6:30 I am presenting a New Client Orientation—basically a talk about what true wellness really is, what it means for you and your family, and the importance of chiropractic care in that picture. It lasts about an hour with some time for questions at the end. Everyone who has children, who has questions or concerns about health, or who thinks you need aches and pains to benefit from chiropractic care should come and bring a friend. Please call ahead, so I can make sure I have seats for everyone.
Also, I am looking for a person to run my front desk. This person should have a passion for life, willingness to embrace new concepts, be a great communicator, and be well organized. If you know this person please have her or him call me so we can get started on the new Montgomery Family Chiropractic.
If you would like to share all the benefits you’ve received from being a client here with your family, friends, or coworkers, please tell them to come to my office on Monday at 6:30. Also, I am available for speaking engagements at workplaces, homes, or any other place where we can get interested people together. Please let me know if you have an idea.
Thanks all for being such a great part of my life…Dr. Elizabeth Davidson
